Types of Financial Aid:
  • Grants - Grants are FREE and do not need to be repaid.
  • Scholarships - Apply for scholarships each Spring. Do not need to be repaid.
  • Workstudy - This program will help students earn money while working in college.
  • Loans - Student and Parent Federal Loans. Must be repaid.
  • Waived Fees
  • Book Vouchers

FAFSA

The 2022-2023 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) becomes available on October 3, 2022 and must be completed by March 1, 2024  in order to be eligible for a Cal Grant and receive priority for free tuition. Many students do not realize that they qualify for Financial Aid benefits.  It is recommended that every student complete their FAFSA form in order to qualify for specific financial aid.

WHY IS THE FAFSA IMPORTANT?

In addition to qualifying you for Federal and State Financial Aid, many schools also use your FAFSA information to qualify you for their institutional aid.

If you are a Non-Resident of the U.S., you may be eligible for Financial Aid through the California Dream Act.

Claim Your Cal Grant Through The California Student Aid Commission

NOTE:  These forms must be emailed or postmarked by September 2, 2023 to be considered on time. Students who miss the deadline may appeal for late consideration.
 
 
STEP 2: Students must log into the CSAC website to create Username and Password
 
STEP 3:  Fill out Student GPA Verification Form and submit to VHS Registrar in Main Office.
 
STEP 4:  Follow up with Registrar to confirm GPA Verification Form has been sent to chosen College.
